Orchid Summer orchid gallery

The images here serve as an accompaniment to Orchid Summer itself. 

They are presented, therefore, in the chronological order in which they emerge from the text, rather than the taxonomic order in which they are listed in Simon Harrap's essential British and Irish orchid reference, A Pocket Guide to the Orchids of Britain and Ireland (Bloomsbury, 2016). 

Included are a number of variations presented within some species, and some hybrids too. I make no excuse for their inclusion - they're just such beautiful flowers, and I'm delighted to have a chance to share them with you. I hope you get a chance to see some of them for yourself during your own orchid summer.
